We've gone Green!

Most of the couture, hand-tailored stationery studios you may come across use ink jet, and laser printers (A big ouch to our environment.) A very small amount of these companies even offer letterpress and thermography. (An even bigger ouchie to our environment.)

I am proud to say that we are finally going green with our newest workhorse! I would like to introduce you to our xerox phaser 8560dn - a solid ink technology printer. What is solid ink technology you ask? It is simply amazing, and oh so kind to mother earth!

Highlights of what our newest edition is capable of :

  • Unlike letterpress machines, laser and liquid ink-jet printers, solid ink products produce consistent color quality page after page on almost any kind of media, including everything from inexpensive office paper to special letterhead, coated card stock, and transparencies.
  • Non-toxic ink is resin-based, similar to a crayon, so the printed media is safe to handle by anyone.
  • Ink is instantly fused onto the paper using heat and pressure, which is why solid ink produces such great image quality on any kind of media. Toner and ink jet ink soak into the paper, so the image is dependent upon the type of paper used.
  • Fewer CO2 emissions and less fuel is used from shipping because solid ink packages are smaller and lighter than toner cartridges.

  • Less energy is used to manufacture solid ink because of the simplicity of the design.

  • Over the 4 year life of a typical cartridge-based toner printer, the waste generated amounts to 450 lbs. A Xerox solid ink printer produces only 23 lbs. of waste!

We are constantly looking for new ways to be economically and environmentally responsible. If you have any ideas or recommendations we would love to hear from you! Our upcoming re-launch

As of today our new and improved website is almost complete! I am so ecstatic about it and can hardly wait until it is finished to show it off to everyone! It has taken me quite some time to re-do it but I would love to have any and everybody critique the site and its functionality, ease of use, and overall appeal of it when it is officially launched this Friday, the 5th of December, 2008.

The launch on Friday will also have a one day Grand re-opening sale! The sale will consist of 10% OFF all orders of $250.00 or more and is good on all purchases that meet the $250.00 requirement.
A big bonus on top of that is if you spend over $150.00 you get FREE priority shipping!

Hope to see you all there on Friday, and I look forward to your input on the site!
